Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons to students with special educational needs
  • Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days to promote social skills and independence
  • Embody the school's vision and core values, promoting a nurturing environment for students to thrive
  • Work with students who have ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and guidance
  • Full-time position, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with opportunities for 1:1 and small group work
  • Competitive pay rate: £14.72 per hour
Requirements:
  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience to work with students who may present challenging behaviors
  • Experience working in a SEN school (not essential, but desirable)
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teachers, students, and parents
