Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons to students with special educational needs
  • Assist with outdoor activities and day trips to promote social skills and independence
  • Embody the school's values and vision in all aspects of your work
  • Work with students who have ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviors
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to ensure students stay on track with the curriculum
  • Pay: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour

Requirements:

  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience are essential for this role
  • Experience working in a SEN school is desirable but not essential
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
