Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in a KS3 and KS4 setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in creating a nurturing environment that enables pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.
  • Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days, promoting social skills and independence.
  • Embody the school's vision and core values, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Work with pupils who have ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure pupils stay on track with the curriculum, providing additional support as needed.
  • Pay: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour.
Requirements:
  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience are essential in this role, as you will work with pupils who may require additional support.
  • Experience working in a SEN school is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the teaching team and other support staff.
