The Specialist Nurse will play a crucial role in providing expert clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team, utilizing their specialized knowledge to inform decision-making and clinical judgment. They will work in partnership with patients and carers to assess, treat, and review patient conditions, providing specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, and clients.

The Specialist Nurse will contribute to the development of the service, improving practice, and working collaboratively across healthcare boundaries. They will implement and evaluate evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies, ensuring high-quality patient care.

NHS Scotland is introducing a reduced working week of 37 hours, with no change in pay, from 1 April 2024. This reduction will also apply pro rata for part-time staff. You may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you will be paid, until your service area changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
