Specialist Paediatric Dietitian

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our dynamic Paediatric Team at St Richards Hospital, working closely with our large Paediatric team across University Hospitals Sussex.
Main ResponsibilitiesThis role involves providing Specialist Paediatric Care to our diverse paediatric caseload, including general clinics and some inpatient ward cover.
We are a research-active Therapy Services with strong links to the Trust Research and Innovation Committee and local Higher Education Institutions. We are committed to developing and supporting local clinical research activity and will support staff to develop clinical academic careers. Our Therapy Services has a professional skills development programme that complements clinical knowledge and skills learning, which staff are encouraged to attend.

Job Requirements- Provide a high-quality dietetic service to in-patients and out-patients.
- Work as part of the Dietitians Department to manage the department's caseload of patients with complex needs.
- Participate in supervision of student dietitians on clinical placement.
- Support supervision of band 5 dietitians and dietetic support workers.
- Undertake normal activities of the department, including MDT working, projects, meetings, service developments, audits, research, CPD, developing resources, training other health professionals, and leading/participating in national awareness events.
- Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics.
- Evidence of post-registration study or development.
- Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration - dietitian.
- Relevant other training or qualification (or working towards), e.g., managing patients with complex needs, MDT working.
- Ability to work as a team member, including working within an MDT.
- Experience in the clinical training of student dietitians or other staff.
- Paediatric experience.
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
