Paediatric Dietitian Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Paediatric Team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, where you will be part of a large and dynamic team working across various departments.
Main DutiesThe post provides Specialist Paediatric Care to our varied paediatric caseload, including general clinics and some inpatient ward cover. You will be involved in meetings, such as discharge meetings and multidisciplinary case conferences, and participate in the education of other health professionals, including Junior Doctors, Health Visitors, and student dietitians.
You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the wider department projects and service improvements, and will work closely with the rest of the Paediatric Team to manage the department's caseload of patients requiring home enteral feeding.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics, with evidence of post-registration study or development. They will also be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a dietitian.
Desirable criteria include relevant other training or qualifications, such as a Masters degree or leadership course, and membership of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) or other professional body.
SkillsThe successful candidate will have good communication skills, including written and verbal communication, and the ability to work as a team member, including working within a multidisciplinary team. They will also have experience in the clinical training of student dietitians or other staff.
Desirable criteria include paediatric experience and evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
