We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our Acute Medicine and Medicine Specialties Teams at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical opinion on a range of respiratory problems, both emergency and elective, within the service.
- Undertake outpatient clinics at our main base site and cover clinics at one of our community hospitals.
- Participate in an unselected medical on-call rota on the Acute Medical Unit alongside physician colleagues and acute care physicians.
- Contribute to the development of our respiratory services, including the ward and Respiratory Support Units, and our large lung cancer service.

We aim to have a true 7-day service and are increasing our consultant physician workforce by 50% over the next 2 years.
Person Specification- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience of lung cancer investigation and management.
- Experience of medical teaching.
- Full and specialist registration with GMC (and Licence to Practice).
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or should have attained or be within 6 months of attaining CCT in Specialty at time of interview.
