We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEMH needs, promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, inclusive learning activities tailored to individual needs, collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication and a supportive team environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods as required to meet the needs of children with SEMH needs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs, with a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant or CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to working with children, with a strong commitment to supporting their emotional and educational needs.
