About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a local school. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a child with specific educational and developmental needs, providing individualized support and guidance to help them thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with specific educational and developmental needs
  • Assist in organizing and delivering learning activities, including literacy, numeracy, and ICT
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment under the direction of the class teacher
  • Implement and assist with a behavior management program to promote positive interactions
  • Supervise children during break times as part of your Midday Supervisor duties
  • Support the organization of school trips and out-of-school activities as needed

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described
  • Patient, calm, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills
  • Creative and motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work as part of a team
  • Comfortable working with children with special educational needs and providing personal care support
  • Team Teach trained or willing to undergo this training to enhance classroom management skills
