Job Summary

Crown Companies is seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer to join our team. As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your knowledge and experience to design and develop equipment and processes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Provide equipment and process design from concept through to startup and operation on multiple projects by meeting project timelines, minimizing project costs, and ensuring proper equipment and process design and specifications of purchased components.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform various engineering calculations and analyses related to process design and equipment sizing and selection.
  • Customer Support: Provide engineering support to customers, and to the Sales, R&D, and Aftermarket teams.
  • Code Compliance: Review design and perform code calculation requirements for pressure vessels.
  • Project Management: As required and as assigned, perform the roles, functions, and responsibilities for project manager.
  • Communication: Respond to requests and work integrally with internal and external customers to provide efficient designs to meet project requirements.
  • Training and Development: Assist with training and help mentor Level I Engineers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-6+ years related experience (Level II).
  • Skills: Proficient in the following skills: Project Scheduling, tracking, and reporting, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram creation, Process Flow Diagram creation, Pressure vessel design, Equipment design.
  • Communication: Demonstrates professional integrity and ethics, able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
  • Language: Must be able to communicate in English fluently. Ability to communicate in a second language (European or Asian languages) preferred but not required.
  • Software: Required knowledge in AutoCAD, Strong Microsoft office skills.
  • Travel: Ability to travel on an as needed basis – domestically or internationally up to 15% of the time, in office and industrial plant environments.
