Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Consultant to join our team in the Anaesthetics department at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our OUTSTANDING Trust, providing anaesthetic services for elective surgery in various specialties. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering maternity leave and working closely with the Pain Management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide anaesthetic services for elective surgery, including general surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and urology.
  • Cover emergency anaesthetic services on a 24-hour basis, including epidural service for analgesia during labour.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and/or other weekend and public holiday work, including orthopaedic trauma service rota and OOHs elective workload.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC at the time of application.
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • FRCA Diploma or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Subspecialty Anaesthetic Interest beneficial to the Trust and patients.
  • Experience of teaching medical undergraduates and operating theatre staff.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £105,504 to £139,882 per annum pro rata (Grade YM 73). In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including training and development opportunities.
