About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Physiology team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of respiratory and sleep services across our Eastern sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of respiratory and sleep services, ensuring high-quality patient care and excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and guidelines within the department, in line with current research and national/local guidelines.
  • Provide highly specialist advice, teaching, and training to Physiologists and other healthcare professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Take a lead role in department research and audit, and support trainees undertaking Healthcare Science apprenticeship programmes.
  • Work autonomously within the Respiratory and Sleep Physiology services, undertaking and reporting on a range of routine, specialized, and advanced tests and procedures.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in respiratory and sleep physiology, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of Physiologists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures and guidelines within the department.
  • Highly specialist knowledge and skills in respiratory and sleep physiology, with the ability to provide expert advice and training to others.
