About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Hepatobiliary Consultant to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with hepatobiliary and transplant surgery needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake paediatric liver, bowel, renal, and multi-visceral transplants and related activities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with hepatobiliary and transplant surgery needs
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care for patients
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new clinical guidelines

Requirements

  • Eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register as a Paediatric Surgeon
  • FRCS or equivalent by examination
  • Experience in paediatric transplant surgery, including liver splitting and reduction, and multi-organ retrieval and management of complications
  • Experience in small bowel transplantation
  • Experience in paediatric hepatobiliary surgery
  • Experience in research, publications, and audit
