Job Summary

Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Hepatobiliary Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children with liver and intestinal disorders, including transplantation.

Main Duties
  • Undertake paediatric liver, bowel, renal and multi-visceral transplants and related activities.
  • Conduct paediatric HPB surgery, including liver splitting and reduction, and multi-organ retrieval and management of complications.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for children with liver and intestinal disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to children with complex medical needs.

Requirements
  • Eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register as a Paediatric Surgeon.
  • FRCS or equivalent by examination.
  • Experience in paediatric transplant surgery, including liver splitting and reduction, and multi-organ retrieval and management of complications.
  • Experience in small bowel transplantation.
  • Experience in paediatric hepatobiliary surgery.
  • Experience in research, publications, and audit.
