Job Overview

This role is part of our Pharmacy Clinical Team, providing a comprehensive medicines optimisation and management service within designated clinical areas for 6-month rotations.

  • Specialties: Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Medicines Information, Oncology/Haematology, Aseptics.
Main Responsibilities
  • Work within a clinical specialty for 6 months at a time, building relations with other staff to ensure safe and effective medicines optimisation.
  • Participate in ward rounds and integrate within the speciality multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake projects or developments within the speciality, e.g. Quality Improvements, Audits, Research.
  • Contribute to guideline and PGD developments within the speciality.
  • Carry out root cause analysis of medicine related incidents and attend governance meetings.
  • Train pharmacy and other healthcare professionals within the speciality.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to delegate and work under pressure.
  • Computer skills, presentation skills, and time management.
Requirements
  • Post-registration clinical pharmacy experience within hospital, PCN, community including at least four specialties.
  • Good clinical knowledge and experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Teaching, supervising, and training staff.
Employment Details

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust offers an excellent salary package, including a competitive annual salary of £85,000 - £110,000 depending on experience.
