Job Description

About the Role

As a Special Education Support Worker, you will work closely with students and staff to create a nurturing environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. Your role will involve providing one-on-one and group support to students, adapting to their unique learning styles and needs. You will also assist the teacher in planning and implementing lessons that are engaging and accessible.

You will play a vital role in helping students develop essential life skills, social skills, and academic confidence. Your creativity and patience will be invaluable in motivating students and helping them approach challenges positively. This is a rewarding role suited to those who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing individualized support to students with SEN, including Autism, SEMH, and Mild-Severe learning difficulties.
  • Assisting the teacher in developing and implementing personalized lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Supporting students in developing essential life skills, social skills, and academic confidence through creative and engaging methods.
  • Collaborating with the teaching staff to ensure seamless support and communication.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in an SEN or educational setting is beneficial but not essential; we're open to candidates who bring strong personal qualities and the right mindset for this impactful role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students' individual journeys.
  • Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check and register on the update service.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is £400-£450 per week, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
