Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Freight Commodities Specialist to join our team at ExxonMobil Corporation.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of the freight market and the ability to develop effective strategies for trading physical commodities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement freight trading strategies across various commodity desks, including Chemicals, Lubes, and Specialties Trading, as well as Clean Products Trading.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and customers to secure competitive commercial terms in the freight market.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a numeric discipline such as Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics, or equivalent work experience underpinned by strong P&L performance.
  • Proven experience in freight trading, with a focus on evaluating, optimizing, and trading physical commodities in global markets.
  • A demonstrable track record in the freight market, including new opportunity development.
  • The ability to establish broker/asset contacts to generate new business opportunities.
  • A strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • Strong commercial acumen, an entrepreneurial mindset, analytical/IT skills, and the ability to take accountability for results and contributions to the team.
  • Broad personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Fluent English language skills (written and spoken), with additional language skills desirable.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including a defined benefit pension scheme, share incentive plan, and private healthcare for employees and their families.
