About the Role

As a Principal Research Engineer, you will be responsible for generating models and engineering drawings of cryogenic systems ready for manufacture. You will supervise the procurement, manufacture, and assembly of cryogenic components and systems for aircraft and ground-based facilities. Your expertise will be essential in the development of cost-effective designs, and you will work closely with suppliers to ensure designs can be realised within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop cryogenic systems, including models and engineering drawings
  2. Supervise the procurement, manufacture, and assembly of cryogenic components and systems
  3. Contribute to the development of cost-effective designs
  4. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure designs can be realised within the supply chain

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in cryogenic systems design. You will be an expert in the principles of leak tightness and leak detection, and have experience working with hydrogen systems. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to present to a variety of audiences are essential.
