  • Role Overview
  • As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing Manufacturing Engineering Data Packs (MDPs) and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs) for Operations use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement MDPs and MIs to support Operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the management of Quality and SHE Systems.
  • Assist in estimating activities and make/buy decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project requirements and support business improvement initiatives.
  • Deploy training and risk assessments associated with Manufacturing Engineering.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of relevant Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering standards and SHE regulations.
  • HNC or equivalent, with experience in Manufacturing Engineering, or a Foundation degree with practical experience.
  • SAP, TeamCentre, or similar PLM systems experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean processes.

About the Team

As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures, and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business. We are looking for innovation, commitment, and drive to help define the future of Weapon Systems capabilities.

In this role, you will support the manufacturing of the M777 towed artillery system. There will also be opportunities to travel across the North of England, supporting various sites.
