Senior Clinical Psychologist Learning Disabilities Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and innovative Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to join our team in Guildford Community Mental Health Recovery Services. The successful candidates will work with adults who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties, particularly those with complex trauma, personality disorder, and psychosis.
The post holders will work with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who value the skills and expertise of our Clinical and Counselling Psychologists. Knowledge of working with high-risk, complex mental health difficulties and experience in group therapy work and project work are essential. Training and experience in evidence-based trauma therapy and CBT are also required.
Main Duties of the JobThe key responsibilities of the role include:
- To be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of clinical work and maintain high standards of care in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Trust Policies and Procedures.
- To carry out comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments and formulation, plan, implement, and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific and complex needs.
- To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, acting as an advocate and ensuring proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual, and religious needs and preferences.
- To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans for people with complex needs.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- A Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent.
- Must be HCPC registered psychologist.
- Any additional therapeutic qualifications.
The successful candidate will have experience across a range of psychological models, including systemic, behavioural, and individual therapeutic. They will also have experience of supervising assistant or trainee clinical psychologists and training and experience in an evidence-based trauma therapy and CBT.
