Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Trauma and Orthopaedics, with a sub-specialty expertise in Major Trauma.
The role will involve working at the centre of a regional network that covers nearly 4 million people in the Yorkshire and Humber region, providing high-quality care to patients with complex trauma injuries. The successful applicant will work closely with our established team of Consultants within the Trauma & Orthopaedic department.
The ideal candidate will possess the FRCS (In Trauma and Orthopaedics) or equivalent, have completed higher specialist training (or equivalent) in T&O, and be on the specialist register or be within six months of being admitted to the register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver trauma services in the region, improving outcomes for patients.
- Work at the centre of a regional network, providing high-quality care to patients with complex trauma injuries.
- Collaborate with our established team of Consultants within the Trauma & Orthopaedic department.
- Contribute to the development of the Major Trauma Centre, enhancing facilities and staffing.
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
- Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in the management of acute major trauma surgical conditions.
- Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.
- Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research.
