Job Title: Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in trauma and orthopaedics, with a focus on major trauma.

About the Role:

The Locum Consultant will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of trauma and orthopaedic services. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication and leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff.
  • Contribute to the development of trauma and orthopaedic services, including service improvement initiatives and research projects.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
  • Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in the management of acute major trauma surgical conditions.
  • Specifically, must demonstrate higher specialty training in orthopaedics.
  • Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.
  • Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research.
