Job Title: Engineering Services Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Services Director to join our team in London. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the operational management of hard facilities management services, including mechanical, electrical, and public health maintenance, critical engineering services, facilities projects, energy management, and facilities helpdesk.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage long-term strategies for engineering maintenance and infrastructural modernisation, focusing on resilience, risk management, efficiency, performance, and cost control.
  • Deliver the operation of all hard services managed service contracts and specialist suppliers to ensure the operation of our built environment and critical engineering systems.
  • Ensure compliance with current and future legislation and statutory requirements on all building management systems, including carbon reduction.
  • Direct, evaluate, and approve M&E designs provided by consultants and architects to ensure they meet our requirements.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Managed Service Providers and Data Centres stakeholders.
  • Maintain security concept documentation, contractor and tenant handbooks, utility metering reporting, CSR reporting, and other ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Attend and manage critical or major infrastructure failures, power downs, witness testing, or supervising business-critical shutdowns as required, and act as an Emergency Officer in line with our Business Continuity Planning guidelines and policies.
  • Assist with the coordination, development, and testing of disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct and regularly review fire risk assessments for our bank.
  • Advise on passive fire protection requirements in line with current regulations for our bank.

Requirements:

  • Professional Qualification in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering.
  • Vocational experience in Hard FM Services, engineering, building maintenance, energy management, or vendor management.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health & Safety (IOSH).
  • Strong understanding of facilities and operational procurement disciplines.
  • Ability to manage employees, including outsourced functions, both on/off site.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic insight, planning, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Proven experience in operational risk management, financial management, and control.
