Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced theatre professional to join our dynamic team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our theatre team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and working within the Urology Theatre team, providing high-quality care for patients and acting as a resource for the speciality. You will plan and manage the implementation of individual care programmes for patients across our general and specialist theatres, whether in our acute or community setting.

You will also be responsible for undertaking a wide range of specialities in both the elective and emergency settings, including Orthopaedic Trauma, ENT, Maxillo-Facial, Plastics, Breast, Vascular, General Surgery, and Urology. The Anaesthetic Team also covers Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the Centre for Women's Health, plus a wide-range of remote area Anaesthesia across the hospital.

Training and Development

You will receive an in-house induction and competency programme, as well as a Theatre Practitioner Band 6 Skills and Expectations Development Programme. Our support for you doesn't end after a set period, with our departments Team of Clinical Educators working in the clinical setting and available for guidance and encouragement whenever you need it.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre nursing or operating department practice, with experience in leading and working within a theatre team. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is desirable.
