Job Overview

The Acute Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy Team Lead is responsible for the clinical leadership and operational management of the cardio-respiratory physiotherapy team, ensuring delivery of high-quality person-centered acute cardio-respiratory physiotherapy and acute rehabilitation.

The post holder is integral to the delivery of effective and safe patient flow through the hospital by leading on high-quality acute assessment and rehabilitation pathways, supporting the multidisciplinary team with timely patient discharge across the clinical areas of critical care, surgery, renal, and specialist medicine.

The post holder supervises, initiates, and participates in evidence-based quality improvement projects and national audits, including recommendations for change in practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the cardio-respiratory physiotherapy team, ensuring delivery of high-quality person-centered care
  • Develop and implement acute assessment and rehabilitation pathways
  • Support the multidisciplinary team with timely patient discharge
  • Supervise, initiate, and participate in quality improvement projects and national audits
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Post-registration training in respiratory physiotherapy and management
  • Commitment to advanced clinical professional development
  • Membership of a special interest group
  • Expert knowledge and experience of respiratory physiotherapy, including critical care settings
