Midlothian Council is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their Business Applications Team as an Applications Support Officer.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will allow you to develop the necessary skills to deliver software and applications support to staff across all Council services.

You will be based in Midlothian House, but with the option to work from home hybridly. Your key responsibilities will include providing support for staff utilising Council systems and applications, such as Repairs and Maintenance systems, Waste Services system, Corporate Gazetteer, Leisure Management system and Vehicle Telematics.

In addition, you will be responsible for implementing, operating and developing these systems/applications and associated business processes, as well as delivering training to system users as required.

This role would suit ambitious individuals who are interested in developing a career in the support of software/applications.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require advanced MS Excel skills and experience of producing and manipulating data for various uses using query and reporting tools.

Previous experience in Systems Administration, including the provision of helpdesk service to colleagues and other stakeholders, is also essential.

You should have experience of delivering staff training and designing and producing training/procedural/guidance documentation.

The salary for this role is approximately £31,126 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
