Child Protection Social Worker Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our child protection team as a social worker and contribute to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people on the Isle of Wight.

About the Role:

You will be working within our child protection team, managing a caseload of children and families, conducting risk assessments, and developing care plans to ensure children's safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Case Management: Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring their needs are addressed.
  • Risk Assessment: Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify risks and develop care plans to ensure children's safety.
  • Collaboration: Working with professionals from health, education, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Court Work: Preparing reports and presenting evidence in court to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Family Support: Engaging with families, building trust, and working with them to ensure the safety and well-being of their children.
Requirements:
  • A recognised qualification in social work (Dip.SW, CSS, CQSW or equivalent).
  • Social Work England registration.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment processes.
  • Access to your own vehicle and availability to work on the Isle of Wight for five days per week.
Salary:

£50,000 per annum.
