About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Park Medical Practice as a Patient Care Coordinator.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience that sets the tone for their interaction with our practice.

Main Responsibilities
  • Telephone Duties: Answer incoming calls, signpost patients to relevant services, book appointments, give out test results following practice guidelines, contact other providers, and answer general enquiries.
  • General Reception Duties: Greet and direct patients/visitors, register new patients and temporary visitors, hand out reports/prescriptions/patient information, prepare consulting rooms prior to surgery and tidy rooms after surgery, maintain health and safety awareness, and perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Support Services: Assist with E-consults, process prescription requests, collect and receipt payments for non-NHS services, and open/close the surgery as required.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to use a computer system (System One)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and remain calm under pressure
  • Flexible working approach and willingness to cover colleagues' annual leave/sickness
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies
