Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct line management of Resident Doctors, ensuring consistent and high-quality care is delivered.
  • Accountability for the services provided by Resident Doctors, including General Surgery and Acute Medicine, and oversight of Critical Care.
  • Recruitment and supervision of new Resident Doctors, providing a robust orientation and training programme.
  • Management of rota and staffing levels, ensuring responsiveness to changes in patient census and needs.
  • Leadership of Quality Improvement Projects and initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • MBBS medical qualification.
  • Experience in direct line management or supervision of junior doctors, with a strong understanding of people management practices and policies.
  • Experience in budget management, roster management, and making commercial decisions on workforce management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary setting.

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 80% managerial time and 20% clinical time. The role offers a competitive salary, private medical healthcare insurance, contributory private pension, 25 days annual leave, and 5 days paid study leave per annum. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work from home remotely and contribute to the development of our team.
