Job Title: Civil and Structural Engineer

We are seeking a talented Civil and Structural Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our consultancy, you will be responsible for designing and analysing civil structures, particularly within the water industry, energy, renewables, highways or infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical design and analysis for new and existing steel and concrete structures using appropriate software and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to lead project delivery.
  • Lead quality, sustainability, and safety initiatives throughout the design and asset lifecycle.
  • Prepare project briefs, scopes of work, and bid proposals.
  • Manage time and budgets to meet project milestones and schedules.
  • Contribute to personal and professional growth, as well as the development of colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 2+ years post-graduate experience to Senior Civil Engineers with expertise in designing and analysing civil structures, particularly within the water, energy, renewables, highways or infrastructure sectors ideally in a consultancy setting.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering codes (Eurocodes, BSI, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in reinforced concrete (RC) design, including water and soil retaining structures and foundations.
  • Experience in the water/utilities sector is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in computational analysis techniques and software; knowledge of BIM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Experience in project and business management, including resource planning and estimation.
  • Understanding of cost and contract management is an advantage.
  • Client-facing with strong relationship-building skills.
