We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Structures Engineer to join our team in Leeds. As a key member of our Civil Structures team, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of complex civil structures projects, including bridges and ancillary civil structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil structures projects, including bridges and ancillary civil structures
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and assist in mentoring and development of others
  • Work closely with project managers to clarify project briefs, agree deliverables, and establish project checking and approval arrangements
  • Undertake significant elements of detailed design and checking of outputs as directed
  • Assess, document, and communicate design changes to project managers
  • Review projects on completion and recommend improvements to technical policy, processes, and design solutions

Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering
  • 10+ years relevant post-qualification structures design experience and a strong successful record of project delivery in structures design
  • Chartered Membership of the ICE or IStructE
  • Significant experience with design to Eurocodes and DMRB
  • Experience mentoring graduate engineers under ICE or IStructE training schemes
  • Extensive experience of delivering projects within tight timescales
  • Proficient with structural design and analysis software such as Autodesk Structural Bridge Design, LUSAS, or similar
  • Significant previous experience of providing project governance on projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences
  • Extensive civil structures design experience, including working on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Experience of working on projects from initial tender/bid submissions, project management, leading the production of engineering drawings, obtaining statutory or third-party approvals, project administration, etc.
  • The ability to gain insight beyond a client's immediate need to identify opportunities that benefit the client through meaningful and productive relationships
  • Ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce reports in clear English
  • A full UK driving license
