Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded SEN school in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support whole class, small group and 1-1 learning
  • Follow students' EHCPs
  • Provide praise and encouragement to pupils
  • Provide teachers with observation feedback
  • Uphold highest standards for safeguarding children
  • Deal with personal care needs of pupils, following procedures
  • Provide appropriate medical interventions, e.g. first aid, emergency medications
  • Provide general support to the class teacher in the management and organisation of the day
  • Create and maintain a supportive educational environment
