Graduate Engineer Asset Management Role


As a Graduate Asset Portfolio Manager, you will be part of an energetic team and a vibrant community at London Gatwick Airport. We aim to make your journey to work as convenient and cost-effective as possible.


This role is perfect for individuals who have recently graduated in an engineering discipline with a 2:1 (or projected for 2025) or above.


You will be responsible for delivering a safe, efficient, and resilient asset base. This will involve ensuring that all equipment remains compliant in line with policy and regulation. You will also be accountable for the applicable asset portfolio, delivering to core service standards, and ensuring a smooth passenger experience.


As a Graduate Asset Portfolio Manager, you will have the opportunity to explore various engineering areas while being part of an amazing single campus. You will work with highly skilled technicians and engineers to deliver objectives and meet departmental targets.


Key Responsibilities



  • Influencing and implementing best practice across GAL to ensure the operational efficient use of resources.
  • Work with engineering teams to deliver objectives and meet departmental targets.
  • Ensure optimal performance of asset base including performance improvements to improve system availability and meet targets.
  • Drive EH&S culture across all teams to reduce incidents and promote a safe working environment.
  • Produces effective communication and reports to all stakeholders including other GAL departments, airlines, and retailers.

Requirements



  • Minimum 2:1 or above in a relevant Engineering / science discipline? (graduated 2024 or projected for 2025)
  • Ability to work with technical professionals across multiple disciplines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of reporting metrics and experience in manipulating data sets into reportable outputs.
  • Understanding of the requirements for the successful participation, planning, and implementation of minor project works.
  • Understanding of stakeholder aspirations and balancing technical requirements and financial constraints.
  • Basic overview of Statutory Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice.
  • Ability to manage consultant engagement and deliverables to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Work towards working knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and regulatory and statutory compliance (e.g. electrical, confined spaces, hot works, etc.).
  • Team working - you'll enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas, and collaborating with colleagues as well as other graduates.
