Mental Capacity Law Expert Opportunity

Total Staff Services is seeking a highly skilled Mental Capacity Law Expert to join their team. As a leading solicitor firm in Hoylake, West Wirral, we offer a unique chance to specialize in mental capacity law and make a real difference in people's lives.

In this role, you will manage a caseload of private client matters, including financial and health & welfare deputyship applications, lasting powers of attorney, and Court of Protection cases. You will work closely with clients and their families to ensure their needs are met and their rights are protected.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of private client matters, including Court of Protection applications and deputyship proceedings.
  • Supervise a Legal Executive and secretary, promoting efficient case management and effective teamwork.
  • Collaborate with Directors to meet performance targets and maintain the firm's high service standards.
  • Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases while maintaining accurate time and cost recording.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, Lexcel standards, and recommendations from file reviews.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • At least 3 years PQE in a similar role, with specific experience in mental capacity law and deputyship.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Court of Protection.
  • Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and solve problems effectively.

What We Offer:

  • Estimated annual salary: £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience.
