We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Risk Manager to join our Can I Act team.

Job Summary

This role involves managing and implementing assessments of high and medium risk clients, working closely with Client Relationship Partners (CRPs) to ensure AML reviews are consistent and compliant. The successful candidate will have excellent research and analytical skills, strong organisational abilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.

About the Role

The Compliance Risk Manager's day-to-day remit includes:

  • Managing and implementing client risk assessments, including recompleting AML client risk assessments and updating CDD documents as necessary.
  • Addressing non-compliance issues in line with internal policies.
  • Working with CRPs to ensure AML reviews are consistent and compliant.
  • Contacting clients directly to explain the requirements of the Money Laundering Regulations and to seek information and documentation to comply.
  • Monitoring and analysing matter risk assessments being completed at the start of each matter and prior to completion monies being sent.
  • Helping to ensure the Firm is comfortable acting in particular circumstances and adjusting internal controls accordingly.
  • Flagging high-risk factors for further investigation.
  • Following business acceptance procedures for all clients and work of the firm and taking proactive steps to ensure compliance.
  • Liaising with fee earners and others within the firm to make informed decisions about whether CDD requirements have been met and mitigating any risks identified.
  • Reviewing and analysing CDD documents to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
Your Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Good research and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accurate data inputting, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT skills.
  • A legal qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum one year's experience of conflict checking required.
Our Team

Can I Act is a shared service team within TLT ReSource who undertake volume compliance tasks on behalf of the firm. The team deals with all tasks associated with taking on new clients and matters, such as conflict checking, client due diligence and source of funds checks.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary (£55,000 - £65,000 per annum), annual pay review, 25 days holiday (increasing to 30 days based on length of service) and private medical insurance.
