About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Triage Nurse to join our team at Practice Plus Group Hospital Plymouth. As a Triage Nurse, you will be responsible for effectively managing the triaging of UHP and choosing and booking referrals to our hospital as per OPCS codes and agreed referral criteria and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide effective referral triage and manage referrals where a clinical policy applies.
  • Set up robust processes for the management of all funding applications and referrals.
  • Audit adherence to clinical policies and work with CCGs to provide evidence.
  • Manage the awaiting referral triage work list and second opinion work list within agreed KPIs.
  • Accept or reject referrals and train members of the Triage team to ensure they are competent and up-to-date in referral triage procedures and protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with the clinical Triage team and medical consultants, as well as Referrers, Sponsors, Radiology departments, Patient Booking Team, and other external stakeholders.
