Job Summary
The Surgical Specialist Pharmacist for Weston General Hospital is a key role within the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, responsible for managing clinical pharmacy services in the Surgical Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop clinical pharmacy services to the Surgical Division, including pre-op clinics, theatres, and other medical wards at Weston General Hospital.
- Liaise with senior pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff to promote safe and effective use of medicines within the Surgical division.
- Provide information and support to the Surgical Division on drug usage and expenditure, working with senior clinicians to maximise clinical effectiveness of medicines used and minimise cost.
- Develop a robust medicines-related audit programme with senior clinicians in the directorate.
- Participate in the training of pharmacists, trainee pharmacists, undergraduate pharmacists, and other pharmacy and NHS staff.
