About the Role

We are recruiting for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Position at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.

Job Description

As a senior consultant psychiatrist in child and adolescent psychiatry, you will provide expert clinical care, lead a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to service development and improvement. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement effective treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide expert guidance and supervision to junior staff members, promoting their professional growth and development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in child and adolescent psychiatry, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A CCT in Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
