About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant in Paediatric Mental Health to join our team at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior consultant psychiatrist with expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry to lead our paediatric mental health services. You will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to service development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing leadership and direction to the paediatric mental health team, ensuring that all staff members have the necessary skills and support to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Developing and implementing effective clinical governance systems, ensuring compliance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Fostering a culture of quality improvement, promoting best practice, and enhancing patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of services and optimal patient care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A CCT in Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
