We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our client in Southampton. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, as well as maintaining and building existing customer relationships across the business.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales and business development, with a strong understanding of the engineering and manufacturing industries. You will be a self-starter, able to set and achieve short and long-term goals in line with business needs, and have excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a sustainable sales strategy for the business
  • Leading the sales of the business to ensure that targets are achieved and realistically derived for expected turnaround times
  • Negotiating contracts and price increases to ensure business growth and margin targets are met
  • Managing key accounts and identifying and closing new business opportunities
  • Preparing quotes and estimates for new and existing customers
  • Providing accurate forecasting of financial performance of key accounts
  • Providing customer and market insight into the business
  • Building and maintaining excellent business relationships with new and existing customers, suppliers, and industry representatives
  • Providing regular reports to the managing director

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success in sales and business development.
