Programme Director

Save the Children is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Programme Director to lead our education programme in Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight to ensure the effective implementation of our programme.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight to ensure the effective implementation of the programme.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, annual and quarterly work plans, and overall management of the programme in line with GPE guidelines.
- Ensure programme success through high-quality leadership and oversight, including building a strong team and effectively managing direct reports.
- Represent Save the Children with partners and key stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships with donors, local ministries, and the Zambia country office team.
- Ensure the technical and methodological soundness of activities and support the design of service delivery strategies based on sound and up-to-date evidence.
- Manage the programme budget, including integrity, compliance, and timely utilization.
- Ensure the proper management of procurement, monitoring and evaluation, and staff security.
- Master's degree in a relevant area of expertise, such as education or international development.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience designing, managing, and implementing large and complex education programmes.
- At least five years of senior programme experience working and living in a developing country, ideally in Zambia or Southern Africa.
- In-depth knowledge of GPE approaches and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Personal commitment to gender equality, child rights, and social inclusion.
