Special Needs Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Newbury

Reed Education is a leading provider of education recruitment services, and we are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Newbury.

About the Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teachers and therapists in delivering the curriculum and meeting the individual needs of the pupils. You will work with small groups or one-to-one, depending on the needs of the pupils, and assist with the pastoral care and behaviour management of the pupils, as well as supporting their social and emotional development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to your work.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
