Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, leading the development of solutions to technical issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of design solutions based on customer or internally derived requirements, validating and verifying through the design process.
  • Review and check design work and technical reports, providing guidance and direction to less experienced engineers.
  • Carry out technical analysis and investigations, preparing reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor assigned projects or work packages, ensuring that requirements are delivered to plan.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and development, with a strong understanding of design for manufacture and assembly.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as PTC Creo or Solidworks, and experience with product lifecycle management tools.
Desirable:
  • Experience in structural analysis and stress analysis, with knowledge of finite element analysis software.
  • Knowledge of system control and hydraulic system design.
  • Experience with material selection and manufacturing techniques.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, you will need to have excellent team skills, be self-motivated, fast-learning, and have the ability to prioritize and manage your own work with minimal guidance.

Additionally, you will be subject to both security and export control restrictions, which may limit your eligibility for certain roles.
