Respiratory Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of the Specialist Pneumonia Intervention Nurse (SPIN) team, you will play a vital role in improving patient management and pathways for patients receiving treatment for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
Key Responsibilities- Act as the clinical expert for patients requiring CAP management and provide professional support to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Work with other specialist teams to ensure the development and delivery of a high-quality service.
- Directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management of patients covered by SPIN.
- Deliver high-quality, clinically effective care and patient experience, utilizing research and collaboration with colleagues.
- Act as a role model and clinical resource, demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership within SPIN.
- Manage a caseload of patients requiring pneumonia recovery support, delivering individualized and personalized direct patient care.
- Demonstrate in-depth specialist knowledge, skills, and innovative practice in the specialist area, ensuring the delivery of appropriate evidence-based care.
- Registered Nurse with Band 5 experience (3+ years)
- Previous specialist nurse/Band 6 experience
- Evidence of Nurse in Charge role
- NMC registration
- Respiratory Nursing experience
- Virtual Ward experience
- Research experience
- Chest x-ray interpretation skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft/IT Literacy
- Awareness of UHL platforms
