Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Receptionist to join our team at DS Smith. As the first point of contact for visitors, you will provide a warm and welcoming experience, ensuring that all guests feel valued and supported.

About the Role

This corporate front-of-house reception role requires a professional with excellent communication skills, who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for managing incoming calls, welcoming visitors, and maintaining accurate records.

Main Responsibilities
  • Answering all incoming calls (circa 200 per day), transferring, re-directing or assisting callers as appropriate; updating the switchboard and maintaining the office telephone list.
  • Welcoming all visitors and ensuring their presence on-site is recorded accurately, in line with health and safety requirements, and that they are given appropriate attention and assistance.
  • Sorting incoming mail and franking outgoing mail; ensuring that the franking machine is maintained; dealing with deliveries and ordering couriers.
  • Mailbox management and co-ordinating the booking of on-site meeting rooms, finding solutions at times of high demand; assisting with the setting up and clearing of rooms when time allows.
  • Collating and controlling stationery supplies.
  • Fire Warden for DS Smith Plc in the event of an emergency evacuation of the building.
  • Ensuring the Reception and kitchen area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar corporate, high-profile role.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Confident and experienced with telephone systems and diary management.
  • Excellent personal presentation and clear diction.
  • A calm manner and the ability to think and react quickly when under pressure.

The successful candidate will have a salary range of £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience.
