The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production, ensuring quality, cost, safety, and people are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing production plans to meet targets
  • Utilizing labor efficiently to maximize productivity
  • Assessing resource requirements and setting plans for training and personal improvement
  • Managing throughput and labor to meet production demands
  • Overseeing production processes to ensure quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines are adhered to
  • Liaising with internal and external customers to provide timescales and schedules for delivery
  • Creating production schedules using Microsoft Excel or ERP systems
  • Liaising with production planning, production control, and team leaders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Supervising and overseeing production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Mentoring direct employees and identifying areas for improvement
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of production equipment and machinery
  • Collaborating with the purchasing department to ensure adequate supply of raw materials
  • Attending daily standups and DMBs

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or production management role in a surface treatment or paint facility
  • Sufficient surface treatment experience preferable
  • Proven experience of resource planning
  • Track record of continuous improvement
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing or similar
  • Ability to work additional hours on a Friday as required
  • Support in implementing the Epicor Kinetic ERP system
