Job Summary:

We are looking for a transportation planner with experience in logistics and fleet management to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning UK transport in a specialist sector, ensuring that logistics are efficient and cost-effective. The role involves cost-effective planning of vehicle routes, maintaining a working knowledge of relevant legislation, and managing driver hours and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and optimize vehicle routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Manage driver hours, start and finish times, and route optimization
  • Ensure adequate resources are available, including drivers and transportation methods
  • Communicate effectively with third-party subcontractors
  • Process departmental documentation and drivers' paperwork
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role with a global company in a planning logistics network and fleet management
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
