Transport Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planner to join our Highways, Transport & Design service at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the future of transportation in Stockton-on-Tees and the wider Tees Valley.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and innovative organisation, driving forward transport solutions in Stockton-on-Tees. You will be part of a diverse and rewarding team, helping to deliver transformational change to transport choices in the borough.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement transport plans and strategies to improve mobility and accessibility in Stockton-on-Tees.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including Tees Valley Combined Authority and other partners, to deliver transport schemes and projects.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform transport policy and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries and concerns from the public.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Experience of working in or with public sector organisations.Good knowledge of the principles of project, contract and procurement management.Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.A strong track record of decision making and working to deadlines.Effective budget and financial planning skills.What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary of up to £38,223, flexible working arrangements, and a range of employee benefits, including a generous pension scheme and access to a number of employee benefits.
