About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AV Scenic Workshop Manager to lead our scenic team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our workshop and scenic warehouse. The successful candidate will have a strong background in scenic construction and a proven track record of managing teams and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the scenic team, including line management and training.
  • Manage the day-to-day tasks of the workshop and scenic warehouse team, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting deadlines.
  • Oversee the construction and preparation of equipment to ensure high standards and timely delivery.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage stock and inventory of workshop materials and consumables.
  • Perform routine maintenance on workshop equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Scenic to plan and coordinate projects, ensuring effective use of department resources.
  • Provide input on construction design and material specification for custom scenic elements.
  • Participate in hands-on construction of scenic products.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience in the live events industry with a focus on scenic construction.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and CAD plans.
  • Good working knowledge of workshop tools and machinery.
  • Excellent carpentry skills and experience working with various materials.
  • Bonus: experience with CNC machines.
