About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Graduate Nurse to join our dynamic Learning Disability service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families in the community through clinical interventions in the care pathway.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families in the community through clinical interventions in the care pathway.
  • Undertake initial school-based and community-based assessments and deliver a range of early interventions to children and young people with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties where appropriate.
  • Assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of patients with a variety of conditions.

NELFT's Children & Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) is a comprehensive service that provides a range of interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. Our service is designed to respond earlier to children and young people's needs, helping to prevent, reduce or delay the need for more specialist interventions.

We are committed to providing a high-quality service that is tailored to the needs of each individual. Our team of experienced clinicians work closely with children, young people, and their families to develop personalized care plans that address their unique needs and circumstances.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Graduate Nurse who has a strong passion for working with children and young people. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Successful completion of a graduate training in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience of working with patients with neurodevelopmental and learning disabilities.
  • Experience of carrying out generic assessments with other colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team.
